Group each edit label's methods into a single box. A label that chains methods with or/and/xor now shows them stacked in one box with a single operator selector at the top, the label's “When Active” chain below, and a “+” to add another method to the label. The old in-between connector pill floating between separate method boxes is gone.
Fix the timeline's main ribbon painting the tail past a subtitle edit's last cue as kept.

5.1.0
Rework the timeline into NLE-style media-component lanes instead of edit-method lanes. The main ribbon is now the project's linear sub-timeline of per-source clips (each labeled with its file name, removable via ×, and drag-reorderable), with a dedicated video lane, one waveform lane per audio stream, and a subtitle-cue lane below it. Overlay layers stack above the ribbon like an NLE's upper video tracks. Every lane is tinted by its owning label's color and shows cuts/clips consistently.
Add a Transcribe tab in the left panel: it lists the active project's subtitle as paragraphs (grouped on speech pauses), and clicking any word, sentence, or whole paragraph toggles a manual cut over its frame range—the same as a hand-drawn cut, and undoable. The list is virtualized to handle large transcripts.
Add a Media Source panel, a bottom-left dock that manages every source file across all projects (base sources and overlay layers, deduped by path) with per-file removal and click-to-jump. Removing a file from the timeline keeps it as a re-draggable “orphan” row rather than deleting it, and orphans survive reloads.
Drag OS files or Media Source rows onto the timeline to place them: drop to the right of the base (or onto an empty timeline) to append a base clip, or over the top to stack an overlay layer at the slot under the cursor, with a ghost preview either way.
When paused, render the single frame under the playhead at full resolution (Premiere-style) instead of transcoding a full proxy, and re-render it as you drag or click the playhead. Scrubbing is snappier and no longer flashes back to the un-edited frame.
Add mask and confine actions to the effect registry, and make number inputs drag-to-scrub.
Show the filename and resolution in the Video Layer panel.
Add New Project (Cmd/Ctrl+N) to the File menu.
Show ellipsized file names in ribbon clips and overlay lanes.
Use the auto-editor 31.1.0 binary.
Fix “Follow base cuts”: overlay layers now skip the base's cut spans instead of playing straight through them.
Fix a crash from a malformed persisted method ({ kind: "" }) that broke the level fetcher on reload, and sanitize bad persisted state on load while keeping the good.
Fix switching a lone method's kind (e.g. audio → none → audio) corrupting that method row and crashing the level fetcher.
Reject files that probe as invalid on import instead of crashing, and undo any partial import side effects.
Fix timeline none/all colors and per-lane foreground/background consistency.
